The Heart Sutra is believed to have been written around the 1st century CE, and it is commonly recited in Buddhist temples around the world. The text is relatively short, but it encapsulates the core Mahayana philosophy of emptiness and non-duality. The sutra famously opens with Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, meditating deeply and realizing that all phenomena are "empty" of inherent existence. This insight leads to liberation from suffering.
One of the key lines in the Heart Sutra is:
"Form is emptiness, emptiness is form."
The Heart Of Prajna Paramita Sutra ( also known as "The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom" ) is engraved into this beautiful Silver Bangle. This sutra is highly revered because it is one of the shortest sutras in the World but managed to summarize the teachings of the Buddha in the most complete way, thus giving it its name The Heart Sutra. Wearing or displaying any sutras has the power to bless and protect the wearer or the surroundings where the sutra is displayed. Displaying or wearing The Heart of the Prajna Paramita Sutra will bless the wearer or the place with harmony, peace, protection, and wealth. It will also help the person coming across it attained a deeper knowledge of the Buddhist teachings, or help pave the way for the person to be ready for Buddhist scriptures. More than that as the promise of The Heart Sutra, it can also remove all suffering.
Also featured on the Tibetan Bracelet is the six True Words: Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hum. This six syllable phrase which can be transliterated to "Hail the Jewel in the Lotus" is an invocation mantra of the Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion who protects one from harm.
